About

Farra Engineering Design, a division of Farra Engineering Ltd, offer a comprehensive range of services to the engineering industry, both locally and internationally. We specialise in design, draughting, project management, product development and mechanical engineering support and in conjunction with our manufacturing divisions, provide a complete engineering solution. We can provide assistance on part jobs or a complete service from design to installation and we can cater for both small and large companies.

Our expertise comes from a history of successful access equipment projects executed throughout New Zealand and overseas. Currently Farra Engineering Design have completed hundreds of custom designed and built projects for installation on high-rise towers in many different countries. The depth and systematic design of our range of products has enabled us to provide a modular approach to provide an economic solution.

Experience, ability and enthusiasm has helped us to create innovative designs to answer the complex problems associated with the unique requirements of our clients. Often this approach has meant that we have worked closely with key personnel to ensure that their vision of the project isn’t compromised.

Experienced and skilled in a wide range of engineering fields with Professional IPENZ chartered engineers. MathCAD and Finite Element Analysis software ultilised to detail and document designs.

Draughting

3D modelling and deaughting using the latest SolidEdge software and 2D setout and draughting with AutoCAD, allowing all modelling and draughting requirements from small to large projects.

Project Management

Enthusiastic and experienced Project Managers to ensure that projects whether large or small are run on schedule and on budget.

Product Development

We can take your concept or product the next step by developing and defining the design ready for manufacture or market analysis.

Access Equipment

Farra Building Maintenance Units provide quick, safe and convenient access to building exteriors. The engineering team is driven by a real passion to meet the needs of the industry, through creative and innovative solutions. Our philosophy is simple… Every project will be an opportunity to express our capability, every product will be unique, reliable and elegant and every client will be satisfied. We have fitted these units to many of the tallest and most complex towers in Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Macau, Papua New Guinea and London.

Pit Maintenance Units

Farra’s Pit Maintenance Unit is a practical and elegant solution for the maintenance of carbon anode baking furnaces. It provides maintenance staff a safe, quick and ergonomic means to access the entire furnace walls and floor. Our machine is uniquely simple to relocate between banks of pits and offers unobstructed access to all pits in each bank. We have installed these units in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Mozambique and Bahrain.

Hoist Equipment

For any “Lift, Lower or Move” application, Farra Engineering Design has extensive experience in the design of hoisting equipment. For all applications with varying loads, speeds and requirements, our successful history and experience will ensure that your requirements are met and expectations exceeded.
